Each season offers something to celebrate — Kate Williams shares that gift through flowers, creativity, and purposeful connection.
About The After-hours Stylist
Founder of The After-hours Stylist
After two decades in senior corporate and general management roles, Kate Williams has shifted her focus to the creative life she’s been nurturing for years — at the flower farm she shares with her husband, Phil, in Prebbleton, Canterbury.
Together, they have transformed their lifestyle block into a seasonal sanctuary filled with ornamental gardens, a flourishing flower field, and a purpose-built flower shed studio. The land has become both a creative retreat and a place of gathering — a family-built space now lovingly supported by multiple generations, including their six grandchildren who can often be found helping harvest blooms, picking petals, or simply enjoying the magic of the outdoors.
As the founder of The After Hours Stylist, Kate brings together a lifelong love of nature, design, storytelling, and seasonal beauty. She hosts immersive floral workshops, gatherings, and creative escapes that celebrate the rhythm of the seasons and the joy of making things beautiful.
Kate works with individuals, corporates, and charities to create meaningful experiences that combine flowers, styling, food, and art — offering moments of beauty that are both grounding and uplifting. Giving back is a core value woven throughout her work, with regular fundraising events and bespoke charity days hosted on the property.
She is the author of two books:
The After-Hours Stylist, created in collaboration with photographer Anna McLeod, which shares her story of building a creative life around family and work
Floral Abundance, a celebration of seasonal flowers, food, and styling, photographed and styled entirely by Kate on the flower farm
From foraging and growing to styling and storytelling, Kate’s work invites others to slow down, gather, and find inspiration in the natural beauty that surrounds us.
